Can stand-up comedian and actor Raymond Mearns be convinced there is more to Scotland than the city streets where he feels most at home? In Talk on the Wildside he meets some of the men and women who have dedicated their lives to broadening our knowledge of Scotland's great outdoors.

Travelling to Rhue just a few miles north of Ullapool in Wester Ross, Raymond meets contemporary landscape painter James Hawkins at his gallery and studio. James explains how he draws inspiration from the rugged beauty of the area built up over years of walking and observing. Raymond gets to understand a little of how James works and learns how he still hopes for those special eureka moments.
