All Change for Managing Our Environment - Natural Resources Wales

Changes are afoot in how we manage our environment.聽 In just 2 week time, from April 1st Natural Resources Wales is born聽as the Countryside Council for Wales, the Environment Agency and Forestry Commission Wales聽are merged into a single new body.聽 But can deliver a sustainable future for the people, environment and economy of our countryside?聽 In just 2 week time, from April 1st Natural Resources Wales is born - Ministers say it will save tax payers more than a hundred and fifty million pounds over ten years. The new body will have a 2,000 strong workforce, and will be in charge of all environment issues, and will have legal powers. It's likely to affect everyone who lives or works in Wales.

We've gathered a panel to explore the new environmental management body ...Jon Owen Jones the Chair of Forestry Commission Wales; Mick Green the director of Ecology Matters; Bernard Llewellyn who farms at Castell Farm near Carreg Cennen Castle and is chairman of NFU Cymru Rural Affairs Board. And finally Dr Madeleine Havard who has been appointed to the board of Natural Resources Wales
