6 Music's Greatest Hits

Steve launches 6 Music's Greatest Hits. At the end of its tenth anniversary celebrations, the station is asking listeners to vote for the greatest song released in its lifetime.

成人快手 Radio 6 Music was born on 11 March 2002 and, since that time, has played on-air near enough one million songs*.

Many of these songs were composed during the ten years since so, as 6 Music says farewell to its year of anniversary celebrations, we thought it was high time we looked back to find out just what was the greatest song released during our time on-air.

And so, starting today, 成人快手 6 Music will be searching for the greatest song released during the station's lifetime. We've shortlisted 100 songs, all released between March 2002 and the end of 2012, and we want you to vote for the track you believe to be the pinnacle of musical achievement during this time. Artists featured include Radiohead, Blur, Outkast, The Streets, LCD Soundsystem, Johnny Cash, M.I.A., Arctic Monkeys and The White Stripes.

Steve Lamacq launches the vote today and it closes on Friday 25 January. On Friday 1st February, after all the votes have been compiled, 6 Music will play out the Top 100 in order. Starting in Shaun Keaveny's Breakfast show, it culminates in Steve Lamacq revealing the greatest hit during his show that evening.
