Three sisters: A story of abuse
Joyce, June and Paula Kavanagh are three sisters from Dublin. In 1990, when they were adults, their father was convicted and imprisoned for sexually abusing them, throughout their childhood. Two years later they went public and on national television with their story. The show was lauded and they were nominated for Women of the Year. Now twenty years on, they’ve told their story in a new book ‘Click Click’. They join Jane to discuss and explain their refusal to allow their abuse to define them.

Women in the workplace
Women’s progress - or lack of it - in the workplace will come under the scrutiny of parliament with the launch today of an inquiry lasting three months. The cross-party Business Innovation and Skills committee will be looking at whether the legislation meant to tackle inequality is really working. Among the leading figures that’ll be called to give evidence before the parliamentary inquiry are Anya Hindmarch, Dame Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell, Heather MacGregor, Margaret Mountford and Hilary Devey, as well as Government ministers and organisations. Labour MP Ann McKechin will join Jane Garvey to discuss what the inquiry will look at.
