Night Waves returns from its summer break this evening bursting with vigour and ready to try its teeth on one of philosophy's most fundamental questions - what is the good life? All four of this week's programmes will be grappling with subject but in tonight's opening discussion Philip Dodd and his guests consider how an idea that began with Aristotle as an ethical quest can have evolved in the 21st century into unbridled consumerism.
