When Vicky Featherstone arrived in Glasgow back in 2004 to start work on setting up a national theatre company for Scotland, arts insiders knew that a unique talent had been secured. She'd proven her worth in London, working in theatre and television, but establishing a national theatre company from scratch had to be the ultimate challenge. Eight years on, Vicky is about to bow out and return to London again, as the first female Artistic Director at The Royal Court Theatre. In this week's Trip to the Top, Clare English finds out why Vicky took on the NTS challenge in the first place - how did she balance that with bringing up a young family and how confident is she that she can continue to work her magic in her next job?
