Sufiyah Ahmed and Irshad Manji with Naresh Puri

Naresh Puri sits in for Nihal. Should we be spending taxpayers money on translation services? Plus International Women's Day - Naresh chats to Sufiyah Ahmed and Irshad Manji.

At 1, Naresh Puri asks 'Should we be spending taxpayers money on translation services?'

Hundreds of Asian language translators for criminal courts and Police are protesting today because the money they are being paid is being cut. The cost of translation services in the UK was over 拢100 million six years ago and its estimated to have risen sharply since then. When the country is trying to find savings to fund the NHS, schools and social services, could that money be better spent elsewhere? Do we need translation services for those people who are too lazy to learn English? Or is it important to provide information in different languages so that people can adjust better here in the UK?

Call Naresh and tell him what you think.

At 2,

Sufiyah Ahmed, author of Secrets of a Henna Girl explores the issue of forced marriage amongst teens. It's her first novel and coincides with some of the women's issues which will be debated across the world today as part of International Womens Day.

At 2.30,
