Can Weston-super-Mare's derelict Tropicana swimming pool be saved? Plus, identifying the remains of those killed in action. And the row over a new development near East Coker.
Dave Harvey reports on a last-ditch attempt to save Weston-super-Mare's derelict Tropicana swimming pool from demolition. The outdoor pool complex was opened in 1937 and quickly became a major tourist attraction. But since its closure in 2000, the building has been falling into disrepair and numerous rescue plans have failed. Now a consortium of local business people is trying to reverse a decision to demolish the site.
Plus, we meet the Gloucestershire team of 'war detectives' trying to identify the remains of servicemen and women killed in action.
And the row over a new housing development in an area immortalised by the poet TS Eliot. South Somerset council is planning thousands of new homes on farmland near East Coker but campaigners argue the development will destroy the charm of the village.
