Jamie Cullum plays an hour of jazz music ranging from its heritage to its future. This week he talks to American jazz bassist Charlie Haden - who has worked with the likes of Ornette Coleman, Keith Jarrett and Carla Bley - about his impressive career in jazz.

Charlie tells the story of why he and Ornette Coleman worked so well together, describes his ongoing working relationship and friendship with Keith Jarrett. He also introduces music from his last album Sophisticated Ladies.
