Corporal punishment in schools
Nihal asks whether caning should be brought back into British schools, plus he has some very knowledgeable guests in the studio discussing all things cricket.
At 1, Nihal asks 'Should caning be brought back into British schools?'
The Times Educational Supplement has released a result of a survey showing that almost half of all parents questioned would like to see the return of corporal punishment to schools. Many asked, felt that the riots were an example of failed discipline in our youth and that a stricter upbringing may have averted the behaviour we witnessed on the streets. But do you think the cane is the answer? Are teachers rendered powerless in the classroom? Will dishing out physical punishment in classrooms make children more respectful and obedient?
At 2, We will have some very knowledgeable guests in the studio discussing all for the latest from Cardiff where England are playing India in the fifth and final ODI. We'll also be taking a look at the ICC awards which were held on Monday as well as asking whether Indian fans have been making too many excuses for their team's woeful performance.
