On the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Harlaw, John Purser presents a collection of programmes looking at the Scots' involvement in war.

On the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Harlaw, the Celtic Zone becomes a battle zone as John Purser brings together a series of programmes looking at the Scots' experiences in conflicts ranging from the Romans at Mons Graupius through to the ladies from hell of WWII. Programmes from Scotland's Music look at Mary Queen of Scots and her Musician Spies, the musician soldier, Tobias Hume, the Jacobites, and Hector the Hero; Songlines explores the Flodden inspired Flowers of the Forest, and the crofters lands rights that led to the Battle of the Braes are remembered.
