We open the door wide and let the mighty psychedelic Hyde & Beast in to the studio for the first time, what have we done?!
Equal parts Dave Hyde (Futureheads drummer) and Neil Bassett (ex-Golden Virgins drummer) Hyde & Beast are a self proclaimed sprawling, gentle psychedelic mess made up of the two drummers and some guest friends. Field Music's David Brewis and solo artist Lucas Renney provided some extra bass and guitar parts for the yet untitled album, due to be released on Tail Feather records in July 2011 but if you can't wait that long then they are giving away the song '(and the) Pictures in the sky' for free! And how did all this come about you ask? The entire album was produced, recorded and mixed in Neil's Sunderland based studio, by the two gent's, at a rate of one song per day!
