The majestic setting of Buckingham Palace will be the focus at the start of the day as the Queen and close members of the royal family gather for breakfast. Meanwhile, at neighbouring Clarence House, the Queen's grandson Prince William and his best man, Prince Harry, will be making their final preparations. But keen eyes will be trained on the nearby Goring Hotel, venue for the bridal party, where the princess-in-waiting will be getting ready to greet the world. Fiona Bruce will be following the journey of the girl who, one day, will be queen.
Meanwhile, Alex Jones reports from Kate's home village, Bucklebury, where the locals will be out in force to cheer on their most-celebrated resident.

As the doors of Westminster Abbey prepare to open, Sophie Raworth will be inviting some of the 1900 guests to share their thoughts and feelings about the royal couple ahead of the service. Amongst them will be some of Prince William's RAF Search and Rescue colleagues, who will be rubbing shoulders with heads of the Commonwealth, the Beckhams, Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha, European royalty, including the soon-to-be wed Prince Albert of Monaco, and pop royalty in the form of Sir Elton John. Anita Rani will be reporting from adjacent Parliament Square, where the crowds will be jostling for position, hoping to catch a glimpse of the most famous faces in the land.
As the build-up to the main event continues, Edith Bowman mingles with the people of St Andrews University, who will be throwing their own party to mark the wedding of their two most talked-about students.

We meet Prince William's former colleagues, the Household Cavalry. As the Mounted Regiment are grooming, primping, polishing and preparing to escort the royal procession through some of Britain's most famed landmarks, their fully-operational comrades in Afghanistan will be celebrating the wedding thousands of miles away at their military base.

Chris Hollins meets the royal well-wishers. Thousands will line the route, hundreds will have been camped out on The Mall overnight, and many will have travelled across the globe to take part in this historic occasion.
