Can we afford to lend Ireland 7 billion pounds? The government says it's right we help our neighbours when they're stuck - haven't we got enough problems here?
Can we afford to lend Ireland 7 billion pounds?
We're putting up the cash to try to save Ireland's economy - and that amount's on top of the €80 billion bail-out the EU has promised. We've already put money into that as well.
The government says it's right we help our neighbours when they're stuck - and it also helps shore up our OWN investments there....
But we're not exactly cash rich ourselves. Haven't we got enough problems here?
Even if it IS right to help out our neighbour in a crisis - can we afford it?
Nicky Campbell takes your calls, and speaks to guests including Fianna Fáil member of parliament for Galway West Frank Fahey, and Douglas Carswell, Conservative MP for Clacton.
