A Prom featuring the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. Mozart: Symphony No 35 in D (Haffner). Symphony. Bent Sorensen: La mattina. Grieg: Holberg Suite. Mozart: Piano Concerto No 24.

With Penny Gore.

The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra performs with joint Artistic Director Isabelle van Keulen and Principal Guest Director Leif Ove Andsnes leading from violin and piano respectively. Two contrasting works by Mozart - the sparkling 'Haffner' Symphony and the more dramatic Piano Concerto no. 24 in C minor - frame Scandinavian pieces new and old: Grieg's beloved string-orchestra classic and Dane Bent Sorensen's new piano concerto, La mattina, which the composer regards as containing both his 'darkest and most profound' music. Presented by Fiona Talkington.
