Mike Harding introduces highlights from the final of the 2010 成人快手 Radio 2 Young Folk Award, held at the 成人快手 Radio Theatre in London on Friday 4th December.

The programme includes performances by each of the six finalists as well as the announcement of the winner and presentation of the trophy by our special guest - the musician and singer Jon Boden.

The finalists are Cinnte, a six piece group from County Derry, Northern Ireland; Niamh Boadle, a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Lancashire; The Carrivick Sisters, twins Charlotte and Laura, from Devon who sing and play fiddle, mandolin, guitar and dobro; sisters Mairi and Steaphanaidh Chaimbeul from the Isle of Skye who play clarsach, saxophone and sing; Chris Keatinge, a button accordion player, from the Scottish Borders; and James Findlay, a singer, guitarist and fiddle player from Dorset.

Now in its twelfth year, the Radio 2 Young Folk Award is the network's annual search for the most promising folk musicians in the UK. The initiative is open to anyone aged 15 to 20, performing traditional and acoustic music as a band, duo or soloist.

Plus, as part of Radio 2's Pete Seeger night, past winners and finalists of the Young Folk Award including Jim Moray, Ruth Notman and Jackie Oates pay tribute to Seeger with specially recorded versions of his songs.
