London Philharmonic and Truls Mork
Presented by Ian Skelly. Yannick Nezet-Seguin conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Haydn's Cello Concerto in C, with soloist Truls Mork, and Bruckner's Symphony No 7.
Ian Skelly presents a concert given at London's Royal Festival Hall, featuring young Canadian conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin directing the London Philharmonic. He was appointed to the position of Principal Guest Conductor after his debut with the orchestra late in 2008.
Truls Mork is soloist in Haydn's C major Cello Concerto, a piece that was believed lost until it turned up in a library in Prague in 1961. This is followed by one of the acknowledged masterpieces of the orchestral repertoire - Bruckner's 7th Symphony, a work inspired by the death of the composer's guiding light, Richard Wagner.
