Pianist Imogen Cooper performs an all-Schubert recital at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall. Plus a Nielsen chamber music focus.

Presented by Martin Handley.

Well-known for her sensitive and lyrical playing, pianist Imogen Cooper performs an all-Schubert recital as part of the 2008-2009 International Piano Series at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall. Her programme begins with two lieder, followed by two sonatas, both written in 1825. The A minor Sonata was one of the few to be published in Schubert's lifetime and was dedicated to Beethoven's staunch patron Archduke Rudolph; the D reflects an idyllic summer where Schubert was transfixed by the beauty of the Austrian countryside.

Imogen Cooper (piano)

Schubert: Drei Klavierstucke, D946; Sonata in A minor, D845; Sonata in D, D850.

Followed by a Nielsen chamber music focus, including recordings from the 成人快手 archives.
