Louise Fryer introduces a recital given by members of the Fibonacci Sequence at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall as part of 2008's Messiaen centenary celebrations. They perform Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, a work created during his internment by the Nazis, which began as a short trio and was then developed into an eight-movement work that was premiered in front of prisoners and guards in 1941.
