Free Thinking: Being Green can be Dangerous

Philosopher John Gray presents a talk from the 2008 Free Thinking festival in which he argues that 'being Green' can be dangerous and that we need to look to technology.

In one of the Free Thinking festival 2008's 'Daniel in the Lion's Den' sessions, philosopher John Gray, author of the bestselling Straw Dogs and considered to be one of Britain's most original thinkers, risks the wrath of recyclers everywhere by suggesting to an audience that to think that we can 'save the planet' is absurd or even dangerous. To meet the challenges of the future, Gray argues, we need to look to technological fixes - including some that 'greens' fear and reject.
