The use of music in TV documentaries and adverts has catapulted several artists into the mainstream, including the Iceland band Sigur Ros, whose track Hoppipolla became the main theme for the 成人快手's Planet Earth. With the release of Sigur Ros's new album this week, music journalist Alexis Petridis, American TV music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas and Mark Ross from Tuna Music discuss the difference a TV soundtrack can make to a band's career.

Mark talks to Hollywood screenwriter and novelist David Benioff, whose books include The 25th Hour and whose latest adaptation is The Kite Runner. Benioff's new novel is set during the siege of Leningrad in the Second World War.
