Kenya - El Salvador
Sandi Toksvig is joined by Rob Crossan who has recently returned from El Salvador's national park, El Imposible, where they have flowers that smell like cocktails.
KENYA
It was regarded as one of the more stable countries in Africa and holiday makers were going in ever increasing numbers for the safaris and sea sports. Following a number of violent incidents there in January, in the wake of the disputed election results, visitor numbers have dwindled.
Tour operators Bruce Phillips and Vivian McCarthy share their experience and passion of the country and talk about their vision and hopes on how to restore the tourists’ faith in Kenya as a destination.
EL SALVADOR
El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America and one of the most densely populated. Much of its originally tropical forest has been turned over to agriculture leaving only relatively small areas devoted to the natural plant and wildlife of the region.
Sandi Toksvig is joined by Rob Crossan who has recently returned from the national park El Imposible and where they have flowers that smell like cocktails. Rob also discusses the brightly coloured art of El Salvador and the popularity of the papusa – a sort of Salvadorian tortilla.
