Battling to represent the North are Marcus Wareing, serving a starter of crab and tea-smoked mackerel tart, and Mark Broadbent opting for a salad of duck livers, heart and snails.
14 of the nation’s top chefs have been battling it out in the ultimate cookery contest. Two top chefs from each region will be competing head to head to win the chance to cook at a fantastic four course banquet hosted by the British Ambassador to France. The banquet will be held at the magnificent Embassy in Paris, which has a proud reputation for championing the best of British.
Representing the North of England are Marcus Wareing and Mark Broadbent. Each edition the chefs will cook a different course, culminating in the final when their entire menus go before the Great British Menu judges: Prue Leith, Matthew Fort and Oliver Peyton. First up it’s the starter – Marcus serves up crab and tea smoked mackerel tart and Mark opts for a salad of duck livers, heart and snails. Presented by Jennie Bond.
