Gordon discovers an egg inside his watering can. Soon, Chirpy the baby bird is born, and mistakes Gordon for his mummy - unaware that his real mother is looking for him. Chirpy follows Gordon everywhere and helps him with his garden tasks. Gordon is delighted when Chirpy learns to fly for the first time, especially as this leads to him being reunited with his real mother.
