Moo-Tang Clan: meet the only Gaelic rapper in Scotland, who divides his time between spitting rhymes and rearing cattle
02 May 2018
Ballachulish is a far cry from the streets of New York, but that’s where ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One Scotland’s Landward went to meet .
As well as being a rapper, Griogair Labhruidh is also a Scottish Gaelic singer, poet, piper, producer ...and crofter.
Famous rappers have bling and sports cars; Griogair has his flatcap and tractor. Public Enemy sang ‘He Got Game’; Griogair, he got cattle.
Griogair Labhruidh, Scotland’s only Gaelic rapper, describes his passion for hip hop.
You’re just as likely to see him at Glastonbury as at the Mòd.
Juggling a successful international music career with crofting is something Griogair said is difficult. However, his passion for hip hop matches his passion for life in Ballachulish, so he finds time for both.
Griogair described how being a crofter influences his music, with the landscape and people of his life inspiring the artistic elements of everything he does.
