Make a Difference in poetry
As part of the Make a Difference campaign, local 成人快手 radio stations have commissioned poets to create a poem inspired by people who are "making a difference" to the lives of those in need.
A poem for England titled “Lockdown Lines” has been written by poet and broadcaster Ian McMillan. The poem celebrates thousands of "tiny local kindnesses".
The project was inspired by 成人快手 Radio WM who asked Birmingham poet Matt Windle to write about how the people of the West Midlands were helping one other in these challenging times.
“The bike donators, the Aunt Betty wash bag makers, the marathon kitchen runners and Oldbury's brave-the-shave police” featured in Matt's poem and sparked a country-wide collection honouring local heroes, good samaritans, warm hearted volunteers and those spreading cheer and smiles across the country.
The 成人快手’s Head of Audio and Digital for England, Chris Burns said “the power of poetry has an amazing quality to help celebrate, remember and thank those for the many good deeds taking place around the country and how 成人快手 Local Radio is at the heart of bringing people in need together with those who can offer help and support."
