13 June 2018
What’s the connection between North Korea and Scotland?
No, it isn’t President Trump, despite his fondness for both their leader and our golf courses. The correct answer is a different kind of fantastical colossus.
The Lake Tianchi Monster
The Lake Tianchi Monster is North Korea’s answer to Scotland’s legendary Loch Ness Monster.
Its home is Heaven Lake, whose picturesque splendour forms the backdrop to news reports on state television.

First sightings of the Lake Tianchi Monster occurred over a hundred years ago. .
