Poke your nose inside some of Scotland’s best-designed homes
9 April 2019
Whether it’s a passion for good interior design or just idle curiosity, our collective appetite for interior decor is huge.
The Instagram hashtag #decor has 46 million related posts and rising.
But it’s one thing to post the perfect image of your bougie new downstairs loo and quite another to let three strangers into your home to judge your taste.
That, however, is precisely what the house-proud contestants on Scotland’s ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ of the Year have let themselves in for.
A stunning home on the Isle of Skye blows the judges away with it’s views
This home leaves the judges in awe with it’s stunning views and modern interior.
The judges
So who gets to decide which of the 21 homes in the running deserve to go through to the final? The judges may not be known to the homeowners, but they’re no strangers to good design, inspiring decor and quirky architecture. They are:-
- Architect and university teacher, Michael Angus;
- Renowned Glasgow-based interior designer, Anna Campbell-Jones; and
- Globally recognised lifestyle blogger, Kate Spiers.
They score each home out of ten for functionality, distinctiveness and clever design. One home from each Scottish region is selected to go through to the final later in 2019.
The first episode explores homes from Central Scotland one of which impresses the judges with its bedside pulley system:-
