How one man and his breakdancing organisation are winning the battle against sceptical minds and stereotypes

Breakdancing and its ‘battles’ format developed in 1970s New York and rapidly became a worldwide phenomenon.
However, the hip hop culture to which it’s connected is sometimes viewed stereotypically and sceptically by people less acquainted with the art form.
Chaz B is the organiser of Resurgence, a group whose mission it is to encourage everyone – young and old – to explore the dynamic and expressive world of breakdancing through its annual battle events in Glasgow.
And maybe shatter some of those stereotypes at the same time...
Mix it up
Lewis and Dylan are a dance duo from Glasgow called Mix It Up.

They made it through to the televised part of Britain’s Got Talent but had to pull out because Lewis needed to undergo a life-saving operation.
Now back to full health, he and Dylan are back doing what they love: pushing the boundaries of street dance.
