Award rules: 成人快手 Springwatch Wildlife Hero Awards 2024
1. Any UK resident (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) is eligible to be nominated, except politicians, council members, charity spokespersons, persons where helping wildlife is their main source of income, people in a campaigning position, 成人快手 or 成人快手 Group employees or any person connected to the Awards and their close relatives. Nominees aged under 18 will require parental or guardian consent to be nominated. Proof of age, identity, eligibility and consent (where applicable) may be requested.
2. The nominee must:
• either be an individual, or an activity group involved in the same activity;
• offer help that does not normally form part of their job or normally take place at their place of work unless such help goes above and beyond their paid work activities in which case an explanation will be required;
• help voluntarily with no financial reward;
• in the opinion of the person nominating be deserving of a 成人快手 Award;
• not bring the 成人快手 into disrepute (in the 成人快手's sole discretion); and
• have consented or have parental consent to be nominated.
Please note, you cannot nominate yourself or a group you are a part of.
3. Nominations can be made via bbc.co.uk/winterwatch through the online webform. Entries can be written and must be between 100 and 250 words.
4. Nominations will be accepted from 8.00pm on Wednesday 17th January 2024 and must be received no later than 11.59pm (UK time) on Friday 2nd February 2024.
5. All nominations must be on an official online 成人快手 form which can be accessed via . Persons nominating should declare any professional or personal relationship with the person or people nominated.
6. The 成人快手 will appoint a panel who will shortlist 25 candidates from the under 18s and over 18s categories. The shortlisting criteria will be:
• The impact they have had on their local wildlife;
• The impact they have had on UK wildlife nationally;
• The extent of the nominee's contribution; and
• The personal sacrifices or commitment made by the nominee;
7. Actions which qualify for criteria above will be considered primarily on the previous twelve months. Fundraising activities will be eligible for consideration in the award but fundraising itself is not a criterion and will not gain additional credit in shortlisting the nominations or selection of the winner.
8. A national judging panel will then meet to select the overall winner based on the aforementioned criteria above and any supporting documentation about each of them. The panel will consist of representatives from the 成人快手 and leading figures with an interest in the natural world.
9. The overall winner will be announced live on Springwatch in June 2024.
10. The judges' decision as to the winner is final. No correspondence relating to the awards will be entered into.
11. The Award team may undertake social media checks of entrants to the Award. Entrants warrant they have not acted or omitted to act in a manner that will bring the 成人快手 into disrepute. Where it deems appropriate, the 成人快手 may require shortlisted entrants to undertake DBS checks, specifics of which will be agreed between the 成人快手 and the entrant if required. Information discovered or that may have been disclosed by the entrants themselves will inform the decision as to the selection of the finalists. Disqualification will not be automatic but the decision is in the sole discretion of the 成人快手. Information will be shared with the 成人快手’s editorial policy advisor for the 成人快手 Springwatch Wildlife Hero 2024 and be handled in the strictest confidence and as with all personal data, in accordance with the 成人快手’s Privacy Notice.
12. The winners will receive a Springwatch Wildlife Hero trophy. There are no cash alternatives and the award cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances. No commercial gain can be made from using or referencing the 成人快手 brand, the award itself or any other element of this awards process.
13. Shortlisted entrants may be invited to take part in award publicity.
14. All winners must agree to take part in any post-award publicity if required.
15. The 成人快手 reserves the right to:
• vary the opening and closing times for making nominations and to vary the date of the announcement of the awards;
• disqualify any nominee who breaches the rules or has acted fraudulently in any way; and/or
• cancel or vary the awards, the rules, or any of the selection processes or criteria, at any stage, if in its sole opinion it is deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
16. The 成人快手, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem which may result in any nomination not being properly registered.
17. To the extent permitted by law, the 成人快手 will not be liable for any loss or damage (whether such damage or losses were foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise) including financial, reputational loss or disappointment.
18. Persons nominating and nominees will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them.
19. The promoter of the awards is the British Broadcasting Corporation and these rules are subject to the laws of England and Wales.
