Enchanting dance-theatre fairytale: Rumpelstiltskin

Ballet Lorent has brought the to life in a magical dance theatre production.

This story of love, obsession, grief and reconciliation is made to be enjoyed by grown-ups and kids of all ages. Gather the whole family for a pretend trip to the theatre (from home)!

Choreographed by Liv Lorent and retold by Carol Ann Duffy, Rumpelstiltskin was filmed by The Space from a live performance at Northern Stage.

It was awarded Best New Play at the Irish Times Theatre Awards and the James Tait Black Prize for Drama in 2017. For his portrayal of Eric, Stephen Rea won Best Actor at the Irish Times Theatre Awards 2017.

Musical adaptation of children's classic: Wind in the Willows

Top on and off-screen talent assembled to create a new musical version of about the riotous adventures of Ratty, Badger, Mole and Toad.

Downtown Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and Olivier Award-winning composer and lyricist duo George Stiles and Anthony Drewe combined to produce this adaption which was captured during performance at the London Palladium. It stars Rufus Hound as Toad, Denise Welch appearing as Mrs Otter and Gary Wilmot as Badger.

Opera and ballet combine: Handel's Acis and Galatea

The Royal Opera House has created a schedule of free broadcasts and live content for audiences to access anywhere around the world. One performance will be made available each week on their YouTube channel as part of their every Friday night.

This Friday sees the release of Handel's Acis and Galatea, a performance which brought together the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet directed by Wayne McGregor.

Some of theatre's most talented artists, including Emma Rice, Laura Wade and Mark Ravenhill, will be running workshops, as well leaders from companies including Slung Low, Paines Plough, Rash Dash, Middle Child, Graeae, New Diorama and Curve.

There will be also be a panel discussion on how the industry can restart, fresher and better, post-corona shutdown as well as a quiz and an online game show.
