Patsy Kensit bows out of Strictly Come Dancing

Patsy Kensit

In tonight's Strictly Come Dancing results show, Patsy Kensit was voted off, becoming the eighth celebrity to leave the competition.

The combination of the judges' scores and viewer votes meant Patsy Kensit and Gavin Henson were in the bottom two with Patsy and her partner Robin Windsor being eliminated.

Of Patsy and Robin's dance, the judges said:

Bruno Tonioli: "Patsy, the good thing – you really started to focus and place your legs this week. Usually you always mess it a bit. You were on it – You were extending your leg, you were pointing your feet, but – it lacked spunk! The way you do this dance – you have to go for it! It's like a man and a woman, 'I give it to you/I don't want it/give it to me!'. Maybe you were trying to get the technique right, I didn't get the sort of fleshy, carnal, passionate feel, that I like to see in the Argentine Tango, it's my opinion."

Craig Revel Horwood: "He's right (Bruno) it did lack flair and it did lack attack and I would like to have seen a little bit more extreme to the line. Also you lacked any swivel on the foot passes sadly, but it did have intent and it did have a purpose which is the main consideration and I think you did that very well."

Len Goodman: "Well I liked it, I thought you captured the mood of the dance. Now, hopefully you'll be back next week. What I would like to say to you is – you won't win Strictly Come Dancing being careful. You've got to come out with more intent. You've got to practise a bit harder, because I don't want you to slip away from the fab four that are up the top there, and you will get through if you really work and come out, sell it. Go down in flames, rather than go down safe."

Alesha Dixon: "I actually think you held the intensity all the way through – you didn't take your eyes off Robin once and you pulled me in and you maintained that character. Your legs looked stunning, beautifully pointed toes, nice composure and I loved it."

After their elimination, Patsy said: "You know what, I've had the most incredible time. Firstly, I have to thank all those who voted because it's been nine weeks, which was incredible. It's been the most beautiful experience."

The celebrities who also competed this week and escaped elimination were: Kara Tointon, Gavin Henson, Matt Baker, Ann Widdecombe, Scott Maslen and Pamela Stephenson.

Couples danced either a Charleston, Jive, American Smooth, Argentine Tango or a Rumba

Tonight saw a performance from James Blunt.

All remaining couples will be dancing next week to either an American Smooth, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Paso Doble, Tango or a Jive.
