³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Look East's Stewart White gets cooking for Children in Need

³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Look East presenter Stewart White will be joined in front of the cameras by celebrity chefs as the presenter of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need for the East region.

The TV appeal night event, on Friday 19 November at The Forum, Norwich, features three luminaries of the culinary world: Mary Berry, star of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two's The Great British Bake Off; Michelin-starred chef Galton Blackiston; and Masterchef finalist Dr Tim Kinnaird. Entrance is free but ticket only, and the event starts at 6pm until 10pm.

Stewart said: "Every year I look forward to Children in Need. In this region we always raise more money than almost anywhere else and I love meeting the people with their cheques and buckets of cash.

"I'm looking forward to a great evening with that giddy aroma of baking in The Forum, top chefs and great people all raising money for Children In Need."

Continuing the cookery theme, there will be a Children in Need version of Ready, Steady, Cook! The chefs will also judge a free-to-enter baking competition for under-11s, under-18s and over-18s.

Entrants can bring their cakes to The Forum on the day, from 7.30am to 5.30pm, along with their contact details and a list of ingredients. The winners will receive a recipe book signed by the judges and a special Pudsey plate.

As well as the food-based festivities, there will be live music and a special edition of The Generation Game, featuring staff from RAF Marham. There will also be an opportunity to take part in an interactive Doctor Who Tardis adventure.

Fundraisers with cheques will have the option of appearing on the giant HD screen in The Forum's digital gallery, Fusion.

³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Look East cameras will be broadcasting live segments from the event and ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Norfolk's Sue Marchant will be presenting her programme live from The Forum on appeal night from 7-10pm.

³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ East's Children in Need producer Shaun Peel said: "We're baking for Pudsey this year. The Forum will smell wonderful and to have Mary Berry as our VIP guest is the icing on the cake."

Last year ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need raised over a record-breaking £39 million, which is making a real difference to some of the most disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.

Since the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need Appeal started in 1980, over £500 million has been raised to make a real and tangible difference to the lives of disadvantaged youngsters.

This year the fundraising theme is "Show your spots, let's raise lots!" for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need and this could be as simple as baking spotty cupcakes or getting the boss to wear spots for the day.

TV Appeal night tickets are available from the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Norwich reception or by emailing robert.sykes@bbc.co.uk.

Notes to Editors

This year's ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need Appeal was launched on 20 September, and the 2010 Appeal will reach its crescendo through the star-studded ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One Telethon on Friday 19 November.

For every penny given, a penny goes directly to projects helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK, as the charity uses its investment income and gift aid to cover all running costs.
