The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ today announces that Evan Davis will be become a permanent presenter on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 4's flagship current affairs programme Today.
Evan originally joined the programme in April 2008 on a 12-month contract and has become a popular presenter amongst the audience.
Ceri Thomas, Editor of the Today programme, said: "I'm delighted to be able to confirm something that's been obvious from the moment Evan first arrived: that he's a big part of the long-term future of this programme."
Evan said: "I'm glad and grateful they've signed me up permanently. With a few more years in the job, I might actually get the hang of it."
Mark Damazer, Controller, Radio 4, said: "Evan has been a boon to the programme. His clout when dealing with economics and business is obvious – but he has brought a relentlessly inquiring mind to all that he does."
Evan Davis' previous role was as the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's Economics Editor, responsible for reporting and analysing economic developments on a range of programmes on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ radio and television, particularly the Ten O'Clock News.
He is also the presenter of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two's popular business programme Dragons' Den.

Evan read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at St John's College, Oxford where he was editor of the student newspaper, Cherwell. He then went to Harvard where he obtained a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
Before becoming a broadcaster Evan worked as an economist for the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the London Business School's Centre for Business Strategy.
Evan joined the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ in 1993 as an economics correspondent for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ radio and daily TV news programmes.
In 1997 Evan became the Economics Editor for Newsnight and then in 2001 he became the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's Economics Editor.
Evan, who was born in 1962, was brought up in Ashtead, Surrey and attended The Ashcombe School, Dorking.
