Radio 3's Discovering Music to provide resources for teachers and music students
|
Discovering Music – ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 3's weekly exploration of great works of music or styles of composition – is to provide detailed online notes for teachers and music students with a listening guide and notes based around the UK schools music curriculum.
Ìý
Beginning with Holst's St Paul's Suite in September, and continuing with Grieg's Piano Concerto and Tango in October and November, the analytical notes will be written by John Arkell – a senior examiner, teacher and author – and published online to coincide with the relevant broadcast of Discovering Music on Sundays (5.00-6.15pm).
Ìý
The notes will complement what is on air, but are designed to provide more detailed analysis of the music.
Ìý
They will become an ever-growing resource for teachers and students to remain at bbc.co.uk/radio3/discoveringmusic indefinitely.
Ìý
Teachers, music students and interested music lovers are encouraged to sign up for the new Discovering Music newsletter at bbc.co.uk/radio3/discoveringmusic.
