³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three returns to Young Mums' Mansion – but this time dads are coming too
|
Following the success of this year's critically acclaimed hit series Young Mums' Mansion, the programme is returning to ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three next year but this time the mansion is open to single dads too.
Ìý
In Young Mums' And Dads' Mansion five single mums and five single dads will live together with their children for four weeks to see if by supporting and helping each other they can turn their lives around.
Ìý
The first series made a huge a difference to all aspects of the lives of the single mums who took part, from getting them out to work and rebuilding their self-confidence, to improving their relationships with their exes and encouraging them to start dating again.
Ìý
This new series, again being made by Love Productions, sets out to see whether involving single dads as well can bring the same results.
Ìý
One in ten single parents are male and, like their female counterparts, they struggle to make a difference to their lives without support or intervention.
Ìý
They have their own issues to deal with from overcoming feelings of distrust with the opposite sex to maintaining a relationship with their ex and organising custody arrangements for their children.
Ìý
Living side-by-side with the single mums they will have to decide how to organise their time in the mansion – from how they will enforce discipline to who does housework and other tasks around the home.
Ìý
For some of them it will be the first time they have ever lived with a man or woman, let alone worked as a "mum and dad team".
Ìý
Can they break their single parent habits? And could this provide hope for romance or even a future with a new partner?
Ìý
Danny Cohen, Controller, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three, said: "Young Mums' Mansion really resonated with our viewers and challenged people's perceptions of single mums.
Ìý
"I'm delighted the series is returning to the channel and it will be fascinating to see what impact involving single dads will have."
Ìý
Richard McKerrow, Executive Producer at Love Productions, said: "It was hugely rewarding to see what a positive impact taking part had on the mums involved in Young Mums' Mansion.
Ìý
"Bringing in the boys will add a whole new dimension to the mansion."
Ìý
The series (ten 60-minute programmes) was commissioned and will be Executive Produced for the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ by Harry Lansdown. The Executive Producers at Love Productions will be Richard McKerrow and Elliot Reed.
