Ìý

The season kicks off tomorrow (Saturday 9 August) with commentary from the start of the Championship campaign.

Ìý

Sunday sees commentary from the Premier League curtain raiser with the Community Shield between champions Manchester United and FA Cup holders Portsmouth.

Ìý

John Motson is returning to 5 Live on a regular basis for the new season in a move which will see him as the voice of Monday night football on the network.

Ìý

"Motty" will be a regular panellist on the Monday Night Club from 18 August and will commentate on Monday night games, all part of 5 Live Sport hosted by Mark Saggers from 7pm.

This is in addition to John's duties for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ TV on Match Of The Day.

Chief Football Correspondent Mike Ingham, Alan Green and John Murray head the commentary team with Graham Taylor, Chris Waddle, Mark Lawrenson, Jimmy Armfield and Mark Bright.

Ìý

Plus, Dean Saunders, Steve Stone, Kevin Gallacher, Matt Holland, Pat Nevin and Terry Butcher are amongst the top name expert analysts and pundits to guide listeners through the matches.

Ìý

606, the popular football phone-in, is back – at full throttle – with Danny Baker joining the team to present on Tuesday nights, except when there are no matches, so extending the show to four nights a week.

Ìý

He joins Alan Green (Saturday), Spoony (Sunday) and Tim Lovejoy (Wednesday). 606 will also continue to be available through the red button for digital TV viewers.

Ìý

On ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ 5 Live Sports Extra, 5 Live Football League will bring the top pick of matches in the league, starting from Saturday 23 August.
