New service puts action at fans' fingertips
More people than ever will have the chance to see the best action
from the soccer youth event, the Northern Ireland International Milk Cup.

This year, for
the first time, digital viewers anywhere in the UK will be able
to watch highlights of each day's action.
Ìý
The new service, from ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sport Northern Ireland, means that
during the week of the tournament fans can press the red button
on their remote while watching a ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ channel on digital television and catch a round-up of the previous day's action presented by Gavin Andrews.

The
highlights package will also include an introduction to the
tournament and will be available from today (Tuesday 29 July) until
Saturday 2 August 2008.

The new service enhances ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sport Northern Ireland's extensive
coverage of the Milk Cup throughout the week on a number of
platforms.

Shane Glynn, Executive Producer, Sport, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Northern Ireland, said: "Our online output around the Milk Cup will again be extensive
with a dedicated Milk Cup website providing unique content and a
real sense of community around this fantastic tournament.

"But we've been looking at how we could bring added value and the
red button highlights are an exciting development that will bring
one of Europe's top youth soccer tournaments to a UK-wide
audience."

There will be live and exclusive coverage of the Elite and
Premier Finals on Friday 1 August on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two Northern Ireland from 6.00pm.
Ìý
Digital viewers throughout the UK will also be able
to watch both finals live by pressing the red button on their
remotes.
Ìý
The two Milk Cup finals will also be streamed live on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sport
Northern Ireland's dedicated Milk Cup website, bbc.co.uk/milkcup.

The website also features an interactive map where fans can find
information about the teams and where they come from.
Ìý
The site
will have video packages with all the goals, highlights and best
action from each day.
Ìý
Fans will also be able to submit their own
images to the online photo gallery along with their views and
comments about the tournament by emailing them to
milkcup@bbc.co.uk.
Ìý
An extensive video library is also available
on the site with archive footage, goals, team features and
background to the tournament.
Ìý
Returning this year is MOO TV. The black-and-white mobile video
booth is back to capture views, thoughts and comments about
the tournament throughout the week. The booth can also be accessed
through bbc.co.uk/milkcup.
Ìý
Coverage of the Milk Cup Finals on Friday 1 August will be
presented by Stephen Watson with commentary from Michael McNamee and Jackie Fullerton.

Stephen will also be reporting for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ
Newsline each night during the tournament.
