Gina McKee and Jeremy Northam tell Fiona's Story on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One

Bafta-nominated Gina McKee (The Street, Tsunami) and acclaimed actor Jeremy Northam (The Tudors, Gosford Park) will star in Fiona's Story – a powerful one-off drama for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One exploring one woman's fight to hold her family together after her husband is accused of downloading indecent images of children from the internet.

Written by newcomer Kate Gabriel – and based on extensive research – Fiona's Story is a 90-minute in-house ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖÌýScotland production for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One, scheduled to transmit in 2008/09.

Filming on the distinctive drama began filming in Glasgow this month for four weeks.

The drama will be produced by David Boulter (He Kills Coppers, EastEnders), directed by Adrian Shergold (He Kills Coppers, Low Winter Sun) and executive produced by Matthew Read.

Fiona's Story continues in the footsteps of distinctive productions from ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Scotland including God On Trial (Hat Trick Productions, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two), Purves & Pekkala (Pirate Productions, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One), Hope Springs (Shed Productions, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One), P.A.s (2AM TV, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three), Wallander (Left Bank Films, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One) and Phoo Action for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three.

It is the latest in a recent wave of exciting ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ drama commissions for 2008/2009, including The Mary Whitehouse Story for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two and The Anne Frank Diaries for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One.

As part of the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Fiction department, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Drama is committed to bold and challenging story-telling and, in the last 12 months alone, has produced the Bafta-nominated Stuart: A Life Backwards (³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two) about a homeless man with muscular dystrophy, and Coming Down The Mountain (³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One), a drama about two brothers, one of whom has Down's Syndrome.
