Gethin Jones takes to Radio Wales airwaves

成人快手 Radio Wales listeners are in for an Easter treat on Monday 24 March as a special presenter takes to the airwaves for two hours of music, conversation and laughter.

Stepping out of his Cuban heels, with his Blue Peter badge safely tucked away in his pocket, Cardiff-born Gethin Jones - well known as a Blue Peter presenter and more recently for his footwork on Strictly Come Dancing - will be broadcasting to the nation, playing some of his favourite tunes and chatting to a few of his famous friends.

Joining him on the show will be Torchwood star John Barrowman, nature lover Iolo Williams, dance aficionado Anton du Beke, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, football legend and fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestant John Barnes, Radio Wales stalwart Roy Noble and Gethin's former school teacher, Delyth Lloyd.

"This is the first time I've presented on radio and I'm very excited," says Gethin. "When Radio Wales asked me to do it I jumped at the chance. It's great to be back in Wales and it's great to be broadcasting to the nation.

"The guys at Radio Wales gave me pretty much a free reign and let me choose the songs I'm playing. They've all got a meaning to them."

On the programme John Barrowman talks all things Torchwood and Doctor Who and tells the story of how he was given a dog by a world-famous fashion designer; Iolo Williams reveals how he has a loyal gay following in Newport; Tanni Grey-Thompson talks about life as a Dame and about her new role in the Beijing Olympics; John Barnes talks football and dancing; and Radio Wales's weekday afternoon presenter Roy Noble pops in to the studio to give Gethin some tips.

In the spirit of sharing, Gethin himself makes a cheeky confession when speaking to his old school teacher - revealing that she was once the subject of many an adolescent teenage boy's affections in Ysgol Gyfun Glantaf.

"The show was so enjoyable to do because I was just chatting to mates really," says Gethin. "However it did give me the opportunity to ask a few things I really wanted to know about my guests. I hope to be back on the radio waves very soon."
