Welsh language debate – live from Liverpool


Liverpool and Wales have always had a long and productive love affair, and this year's Valentine's Day sees a live Welsh- language broadcast from the city by ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Wales.

Liverpool is still considered by many the "capital" of North Wales and, to mark its status as the European Capital of Culture 2008, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Wales' debate programme Pawb a'i Farn comes live from St George's Hall on Thursday 14 February, with English subtitles.

Presenter Dewi Llwyd says: "It's an important year on the banks of the Mersey and it will be interesting to hear what Welsh people living in Liverpool have to say about life in the city which was at one time considered the capital of North Wales."

The panel on this Welsh language version of Question Time includes: Dr D Ben Rees, a resident of the city since he was appointed minister of Heathfield Road chapel in 1968; historian Dr John Davies; broadcaster Gwyn Llewelyn; and Professor Mari Lloyd Williams, Honorary Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the University of Liverpool.

Welsh language ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Wales programmes are available on S4C in England on digital satellite channel 134.
