Radio Cornwall's former Breakfast Show presenters celebrate the station's 25th anniversary

On Thursday 17 January 成人快手 Radio Cornwall is 25 years old and to help with the celebrations Breakfast Show presenter, James Churchfield has invited back all four of his predecessors to appear with him live on air from 7am.

The former breakfast presenters are, in order of their appearance on the Breakfast Shows of yesteryear: Chris Blount, Tamsin Thomas, Justin Leigh and Tim Hubbard.

James says: "It's been a remarkable 25 years, however they would not have been possible without the loyalty and support of the people of Cornwall. Thank you to all our listeners for all you do to help us be at the heart of the community.

"It's great to get all the breakfast presenters together again. I imagine there's going to be a fair bit of reminiscing going on and quite a few laughs along the way I should think!"

Justin Leigh says: "Radio Cornwall has been part of my life from that first day 25 years ago. I tuned in to hear the station begin and a few years later I started working there. I had a wonderful ten years at Radio Cornwall working with some great people.

"I am looking forward to seeing many of those people again on Thursday, even though it means getting up very early for the breakfast programme, something I haven't done for a long time!"

Notes to Editors

Radio Cornwall was the first local radio station to broadcast in Cornwall, first waking up the county on 17 January 1983.

Twenty-five years on, the radio station can still boast that it is the most popular service in Cornwall attracting 160,000 listeners each week who enjoy hearing about what is happening locally.

Memorable station highlights include being the first to hear about a problem with water after supplies were contaminated at the Lower Moor Treatment works, attending the annual Royal Cornwall Show, reporting as snowfalls crippled the county, the Boscastle flooding and raising an amazing 拢600,000 for the Sunrise Appeal at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Throughout the year there will be special events to celebrate and mark the station's anniversary.

The station will host its annual Present Aid sale to raise funds for families in Cornwall at midday on Monday 21 January on Lemon Quay in Truro.
