Merseyside song search launches
|
A competition that will give budding songwriters the chance to have their work heard on the radio has launched across Merseyside.
听
The regional competition to find the songwriting stars of the future is open to people of all ages and abilities. The prize is a guitar of their choice from a local music store plus the opportunity to play their song live on 成人快手 Radio Merseyside.
听
The deadline for entries is Wednesday 6 June and the winner will be announced live on Radio Merseyside's Claire Hamilton On Sunday show on Sunday 17 June between 1 and 3pm.
听
As well as getting to play their song live on Claire's arts-based show, the winner will get to play a gig for family and friends in Radio Merseyside's performance space at its headquarters on College Lane, Liverpool.
听
Entries must be sent to Radio Merseyside on a CD and be no longer than 3 minutes 30 seconds. They will be judged by a panel of third year students from LIPA who came up with the idea for the competition.
听
Claire Hamilton On Sunday covers the best of Scouse culture and the arts across Merseyside.
听
Claire says: "Music is so important to Merseyside. We are spoilt for choice for live music venues and have produced some of Britain's best musicians. With Liverpool being the Capital of Culture in 2008, we thought now was a good time to give new talent a chance to shine."
听
Entries should be sent to Claire Hamilton, 成人快手 Radio Merseyside, 31 College Lane, Liverpool, L69 1ZJ.
