成人快手 and Shanghai East Radio link up for climate change debate

成人快手 Chinese has teamed up with its key partner in China, Shanghai East Radio听News Channel, for three special joint programmes to raise awareness of climate change in London and Shanghai.

Launching on听Saturday听2 June 2007, to coincide with the United Nations' World Environment Day, the programmes take the form of phone link-ups co-presented by 成人快手 Chinese senior producer Paul Crook and Shanghai East Radio News Channel presenter Shang Hong.

Paul Crook and Shang Hong will focus on green transport, green offices, green homes and food miles.听

Joining Paul Crook听will be Dr Xiangyu Sheng, an environmental expert from Cambridge University, and听Fuchsia听Dunlop, a leading authority on Western and Oriental food.

Shang Hong will听be joined by Professor Chunjiang Zhao of Shanghai听University of Electric Power.

Audiences will also hear an exclusive interview with Achim Steiner, the Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme, in which he assesses Shanghai's environmental situation.

Paul Crook will also stimulate the intercontinental discussion with excerpts from his Green Ride programme which he made while riding a zero-emission pedi-cab around London.听

Highlights include interviews with cyclists, bus and car drivers, an electric car owner, a green building architect, a Greenpeace campaigner, a restaurant manager and shoppers and residents of a "green area" in South London.

成人快手 World Service's Business Development Manager for China and North Asia, Raymond Li, said:

"This is our second joint initiative with Shanghai East Radio News Channel focusing on green issues.听I am confident that, just like the previous one on 'green cities', this new co-production will engage our audiences in the increasingly important conversation about climate change. 听

"成人快手 Chinese continues to develop its relationship with Chinese media partners, and this is a great example of content co-produced to benefit both audiences."

Le Jianqiang, Director听of Shanghai East Radio News Channel, added: "We wish our link-up programme with the 成人快手 a big success. As environmental issues have generated more and more interest from the public, we hope that we can continue our cooperation with the 成人快手 and join our efforts to produce high-quality environmental programmes around the World Environment Day in the future."
