The 成人快手 Proms search for lost children

Are you a singer and aged between 11 and 16? Fancy starring in a brand new musical theatre piece at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the 成人快手 Proms? This is your chance!

成人快手 New Talent and the 成人快手 Proms are searching for 11 to 16-year-old singers to take centre stage at the Royal Albert Hall in a fantastic new musical theatre piece by Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman and poet Owen Sheers.

Commissioned specially by the 成人快手, and broadcast live on 成人快手 Radio 3, The Water Diviner's Tale is a fresh and innovative production exploring the hot issue of climate change and it needs fresh, young talent to match.

So if you're passionate about singing and want to be part of something new and exciting, get online and apply now.

Nicholas Kenyon, Director, 成人快手 Proms, says: "The Proms has led the way in enabling the best young performers to appear alongside professional musicians in the great arena of the Royal Albert Hall.

"This year I'm delighted that we are linking with 成人快手 New Talent to search for young singers to take the leading roles in an exciting new dramatic piece about climate change by film composer Rachel Portman and poet and novelist Owen Sheers.

"This is one of several projects that puts young performers at the heart of the Proms, and shows how relevant and topical the season can be to their concerns."

Angela Wallis, Executive Producer, 成人快手 New Talent, says: "What is really exciting about this opportunity is that 成人快手 New Talent will be encouraging a whole new generation of classical music lovers.

"Children who have never even entertained the thought of singing classical music will be encouraged to apply, hundreds will receive top vocal coaching and the selected 40 will get incredible performance training at a two-week music camp and the experience of a lifetime."

Successful candidates will be hand-picked for four solo roles and to be part of a 40-strong chorus, performing original songs by Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman with lyrics written by poet and playwright Owen Sheers.

Watched by a live audience of 5,000 and listened to by countless more, live on Radio 3, this is an incredible opportunity to showcase your talent. Simply visit the New Talent website, complete a questionnaire about yourself and upload an MP3 of your singing.

The top 200 applicants will be invited to London to audition with the best 40 singers taking part in a ten-day residential music camp (prior to the premiere of The Water Diviner's Tale on Monday 27 August at the Royal Albert Hall).

Applicants must be aged between 11 and 16. If you are a boy, your voice must not have broken.
