成人快手 World Service has appointed 39-year-old Rabindra Mishra as the new Head of 成人快手 Nepali.
听
Rabindra starts today, Monday 24 April, and is responsible for the editorial output of 成人快手 Nepali broadcasts, staff in London and Kathmandu and contributions from freelance journalists located throughout Nepal.
听
Rabindra first joined 成人快手 World Service in 1995 as a producer with 成人快手 Nepali.
听
Later he worked on English language flagship programmes, including World Today and Newshour, and in the 成人快手 World Service newsroom before returning to 成人快手 Nepali to be its Desk Editor.
听
Rabindra said: "I have an excellent team to work with, both in the UK and Nepal, and I am sure we will continue to meet the expectations of our valued audience.

"News from Nepal is presently dominating the world headlines and accurate reporting by the 成人快手 is, now more than ever, absolutely vital."

Before joining the 成人快手 Rabindra worked with Pakistan's leading English language daily, The New International, and with Nepal Television.
听
He has also worked as a newspaper columnist with various Nepali newspapers.

Rabindra takes over from Khagendra Nepali, 成人快手 Nepali's first full member of staff when he joined in 1979. He became its Head in 1996.
听
Under Khagendra 成人快手 Nepali reported on many national events ranging from the killings of the Royal Family to the ongoing Maoist rebellion.
听
In 1999 Khagendra coordinated a fortnight of live broadcasts from Nepal for 成人快手 Nepali's 30th anniversary when for the first time the service met and talked to its listeners face-to-face, reporting from the length and breadth of the country.
听
He also secured nine new FM radio partnerships in Nepal.

It is a valuable and respected source of news for more than three million listeners in Nepal and expatriates in India, South Asia, the Far East and the Gulf听countries.

成人快手 Nepali programmes cover a wide spectrum of news stories, features, and regular analyses on Nepalese issues.

It currently broadcasts 30 minutes daily on shortwave, which is rebroadcast by nine FM stations in Nepal.

There is also a growing audience of Nepalese living outside the country who go to bbcnepali.com for programmes, in text and audio.

The 成人快手 Nepali Service began broadcasting for 30 minutes once a week on 7 June 1969 from Bush House in London.
听
In 1974 the broadcasts were increased to three times a week for 15 minutes. Its current daily schedule of broadcast from 8.45 to 9.15pm was introduced in 1994.
听
The programme schedule caters for all listeners.
听
For 22 minutes every day Samachar and Chautari bring national and international news and current affairs. This is followed by a programme which changes daily.

Saptahik Bhet brings local news from the heart of Nepal on Sundays.
听
The Feature analyses a key international news story on Mondays.
听
On Tuesdays, listeners can keep up to date with the world of science and technology.
听
On Wednesdays, Nepal Sandarva interviews key Nepalese who are in the headlines that week.
听
On Thursdays, listeners voice their opinions through letters and emails in Patramanjusha, and on Fridays, sport lovers can hear the latest instalment of Sports Roundup.

Saturdays are dedicated to English by Radio.
