Blue Peter today launches the Music Makers competition, embarking on a search to find 40 viewers passionate about music - to help make television history.
听
Blue Peter and 成人快手 New Talent are looking for music lovers and budding musicians to help record a new version of Barnacle Bill, the legendary Blue Peter theme tune.
听
After being chosen through a series of regional auditions, the winning group will get the chance to work with top TV composer Murray Gold, of Doctor Who fame, and the 成人快手 Philharmonic Orchestra.
听
Anyone aged 15 and under can take part. If children play an instrument they could find themselves rehearsing and recording alongside professional musicians. Even youngsters who don't play an instrument can join in as the judges are also looking for rhythmic music makers who will be trained to join the percussion section.

Blue Peter Editor, Richard Marson, said: "We've had some fantastic competitions in recent times, but this one is something really special with a once-in-a-lifetime prize - the opportunity to play alongside the 成人快手 Philharmonic, as well as make their mark in television history with a new recording of our famous theme tune."
听
Once chosen, the winners, all of whom have to be aged 15 or under, will be put through their musical paces at a residential camp for three whole days and nights, which will be filmed by Blue Peter.
听
At the camp, they will get to work alongside professional musicians to get tips and advice ahead of the recording.
听
Closing date for applications is 3 February 2006.
听
Blue Peter goes out fives times a week on the C成人快手 channel and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on 成人快手 ONE.
