One of the UK's most well-known weather presenters, Helen Young, is to present her very last television forecast this weekend.
听
Helen joined the 成人快手 Weather Centre in London in 1993, as the youngest TV forecaster in the team.
听
Helen began a successful career with the Met Office back in September 1990. It was after completing training to become a forecaster that she began her broadcasting career.
听
She first appeared on television as a regional weather presenter whilst working at the Bristol Weather Centre.
听
For 12 years of her Met Office career, she has provided forecasts on a host of 成人快手 television and radio channels.
听
Her broadcasting role saw her become Head of the 成人快手 Weather Centre team in 2000.
Helen has also written and acted as consultant for a range of children's books that relate to the weather.
听
When she leaves the Met Office later this year, she will be leaving to dedicate more of her time to her young family.
听
Helen Young said: "When I joined the 成人快手 Weather Centre, I never would have dreamt of presenting on primetime TV for over 12 years - or of all the opportunities I would be given along the way.
听
"It really has been a dream job. I've been able to talk about a subject I'm fascinated with and I've been able to forecast and witness the unique British Isles weather at close quarters.
听
"I will miss it and my colleagues, but sometimes family life has to come first. It has been an enormous honour and a privilege to bring the weather to the British public; I hope I will never forget that."
听
Andrew Lane, the 成人快手's Weather Manager, said: "Helen has been an important part of our team for many years and we will all miss her expertise and ability to connect with audiences. We wish her the very best in the future."
听
Helen presents her last live forecast tonight (Friday 11 November 2005) after 成人快手 ONE's Ten O'Clock News.
