As the nights draw in and the mornings get darker, put a spring in your step and join in the laughter as 成人快手 Radio 4 brings you autumn comedy to put a smile to your face.

Brand new programmes:

Miles Jupp's Real World: talented newcomer Miles Jupp's first ever Radio 4 show starts in October.

Dave Gorman's Genius: a brand new show where Gorman and special guests decide which of the public's ideas are Genius - and which are not. starts in October.

Mastering The Universe: a new series starring Dawn French and penned by Christopher Douglas (Ed Reardon's Week) and Nick Newman (My Dad's The Prime Minister) starts in November.

Deep Trouble: a new sitcom set on a submarine, written by and starring new talents Ben Willbond and Jim Field Smith, starts in October.

Returning hits:

Think the Unthinkable returns in late September.

Clare in the Community returns in November.

The Problem With Adam Bloom returns in late October.

The Consultants returns in October.

Paperback Hell returns in October.

Miles Jupp is best known to thousands of children as Archie the Engine Driver in Balamory, yet this Perrier-nominated talent is one of the hottest young comedians of the moment.

His first ever radio show, Miles Jupp's Real World, starts on Wednesday 5 October at 11.00pm.

Genius is a brand-new show hosted by Dave Gorman and a special guest. Members of the public pitch their 'genius' ideas to the duo - anything from spokey dokeys on the Millennium Wheel to applying the rules of Just a Minute to Parliament.

Guests in this new series include Paul Daniels, Richard Madeley and John Fortune. Genius starts on Thursday 27 October at 6.30pm.

Dawn French plays Professor Joy Klamp, a miseryguts who will be putting us in touch with our inner spoilsport and who'd rather be seen dead than having a good time.

Deep Trouble, a new sitcom set on a submarine, written by and starring new talents Ben Willbond and Jim Field Smith, starts on Thursday 20 October at 11.00pm.

Following the adventures of HMS Goliath and her inept and easily distracted crew, each week the team find themselves in a different part of the world - but wherever they are, they're not far from trouble.

Think the Unthinkable returns on Wednesday 28 September at 6.30pm. Starring Marcus Brigstocke and David Mitchell, the management consultants are ready to imaginate, re-incentivise and skin the leopard... is any organisation safe?

Sony Award-winning series Clare in the Community returns on Friday 4 November at 11.30am. Starring Sally Phillips as Clare, the control freak who likes nothing better than interfering in other people's lives, this series finds her still struggling to control both her professional and private life.

Livewire comedian Adam Bloom returns with a new series of The Problem With Adam Bloom on Wednesday 26 October at 11.00pm, where he'll be tackling everyday problems in his own brilliantly original comic style.

The Consultants returns on Tuesday 18 October at 6.30pm. The Perrier Award-winning trio - Justin Edwards, Neil Edmond and James Rawlings - return for another series of sketches, music and general merriment.

Paperback Hell returns on Wednesday 5 October at 11.00pm with six new satires. Six chapters. Six different authors. All of them imaginary. All of them straight out of the bestseller charts and none of them very good.

Highlights of this series include The De Niro Code and You Suck Bush.

And finally, The News Quiz returns on Friday 28 October at 6.30pm with Simon Hoggart, Alan Coren, Linda Smith, Jeremy Hardy, Andy Hamilton, Francis Wheen and special guests.
