Richard Deverell has been appointed
Chief Operating Officer for C成人快手 by the incoming Controller, Alison
Sharman, it was announced today (24 May 2005).
听
Currently Head of 成人快手 News Interactive, a central part
of Richard's new role will be to build C成人快手's role in a digital future
as well as developing key partnerships both in and outside of the 成人快手.
听
Alison Sharman said: "Richard has made a huge success
of News Interactive and is regarded as one of the 成人快手's most respected
innovators. I am thrilled that he is joining C成人快手, where he will play
a central role developing the content and ideas which will put the department
at the forefront of the digital broadcasting world."
听
Speaking of his appointment, Richard said: "I'm delighted
to be joining C成人快手 at such an exciting time. I believe there is a huge
opportunity for the 成人快手 to take a global lead in providing outstanding
content for children in the digital age and I'm very much looking forward
to being part of the team that delivers this".
听
Richard has been in his current role since 2000 where
he has been responsible for all 成人快手 News' interactive and on-demand
services including 成人快手 News Online.
听
Previous to that, he was Controller of Strategy and
Marketing with 成人快手 News.
听
He will take up the new post on Monday 20 June.

Alison Sharman, currently the 成人快手's Controller of Daytime,
was appointed Controller of C成人快手 last month and takes up the new role
on 20 June.
听
C成人快手 is the generic term for the 成人快手's children's programming
and online services, and incorporates:
听
C成人快手 and CBeebies programming on 成人快手 ONE and 成人快手 TWO
The C成人快手 Channel and CBeebies, the 成人快手's subscription-free, dedicated
children's digital channels, which launched in February 2002.
C成人快手 is aimed at six to 12-year-olds, and CBeebies is aimed at pre-school
children
C成人快手 online and interactive services.
